In Turkey, comprehensive modifications have been made in the Law of Procedure in 2012 and the judgments and files have been transferred to a web portal which is called UYAP. Judgments in Turkey take as much time as they do in other countries where the Continental European legal system is implemented (just like Switzerland, Germany). In civil lawsuits where written judgment is made, under normal conditions, the preliminary exam is performed for around 6 months and then investigation stage starts.
Judgment period varies by variables such as the complexity of the dispute, number of parties and their addresses. However as an example, a civil lawsuit pertaining to the refund of a money which had been paid in accordance with an apartment sales contract may take one to one and half year.
